KCIE operates a comprehensive online portal service for investor education (www.kcie.or.kr) to provide a wide array of online education programs to the Korean public.
The website is loaded with an extensive amount of web-based learning resources and information including educational videos and the School Series, which covers a range of financial topics. The portal service allows people to easily access education programs and contents of world-class both in terms of quality and quantity.
01. For general Investors
School Series
The School Series is a comprehensive set of financial education programs that focus on assorted financial topics ranging from asset allocation to retirement planning and new financial products.
Online VOD on Securities and Finance
Short educational videos on important financial topics are available through the online VOD service. They include guides to retirement planning, mutual fund investment and asset portfolio management, as well as information on pension plans and financial investment products.
Become a Smart Investor Series
The Become a Smart Investor Series is a collection of educational videos about 10 minutes in length that provide useful information on current market issues and financial products. These materials are designed to help investors remain up-to-date with changes in the financial market.
02. For Young People
Online Interactive Self-Study Programs
The Investing for Your Dreams online interactive course allows young students to study by themselves the basic concepts of finance and learn about the value of saving and investing through various tools and exercises.
Economy and Securities Hi-School Programs
The Economy and Securities Hi-School helps high school students gain an accurate understanding of basic economic concepts involving securities and finance.
01. For general Investors
We offer a variety of traditional offline education programs designed to meet the specific needs of different target groups classified by such criteria as age, profession, or gender, thereby improving the accessibility of investor education and contributing to the spread of sound and mature investment behavior.
On-Site Education Programs
A customized investor education is organized and delivered to the location of your choosing through the On-Site Education Program. An educator will come to you and provide a lecture or training on any topic you request. This type of program is highly effective for improving the public's access to financial education. Any group of more than 30 persons may apply for the program. Among target groups are business employees, police officers, military officers and women's rights advocacy groups.
Weekly Special Lectures
Financial professionals give a special lecture once a week on current market issues to promote effective asset management and investor protection.
Weekend Finance Programs
Designed for those who can't find time during the week, the Weekend Finance Program aims to expand investors' practical knowledge about asset management as well as to provide information on current market conditions and new financial products and services.
Financial Education For Teachers and Parents
Financial education targeting teachers and parents is important not only for them, but also for their students or children. These programs focus on ensuring that teachers and parents properly understand the principles of finance and investment so that they find themselves capable of providing effective financial education to their students or children. Training programs for teachers are provided during summer and winter vacations.
02. For Young People
In close cooperation with local education authorities and schools, KCIE organizes and operates financial programs aimed at students.
Financial Education Partnership School
We encourage primary and secondary schools nationwide to apply for financial education partnerships with KCIE, which in turn provides the students of partnership schools with financial education using textbooks and audio-visual materials. This program consists of 5 sessions (totaling 10 hours) and includes lectures and field-trips. In the first half of 2011, 94 schools across the nation participated in the program.
Vacational High Schools Specializing in Financial Skills
KCIE works together with vocational high schools, particularly by means of MOU signing, to help the students develop the skills required in the financial industry. In close coordination with the schools, we provide the students with financial literacy programs including on-the-ground training.

KCIE organizes exciting training sessions where young people may gain hands-on experience of working in the financial world and increase their understanding of how the capital market works.

Yeouido, Finance Bus
The Yeouido Finance Bus is a field-trip that takes elementary and secondary school students on a tour of financial business places in Yeouido ? Korea's financial district. Destinations include KCIE, the Korea Exchange (KRX), a securities brokerage house, the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS), and MTN (a financial news broadcasting network). Occurring every Friday, the tour offers students the chance to gain a first-hand insight into the world of finance.
Weekend Finance Class for Children
The Weekend Finance Class for Children allows young students to take a finance class during the weekend to increase their financial capabilities. There is also a finance literacy program available for parents scheduled at the same time so that both the children and their parents can come together and enjoy learning about finance and economy.
Chidren’s Securities Camp
The Children's Securities Camp (a two-day program) gives children the opportunity to gain hands-on experience of learning about securities and finance.
03. For the Socially Disadvantaged : Financial Self-Suffciency Programs
KCIE operates education programs customized to the needs of the underprivileged such as low-income or single-parent families, those suffering disabilities, multi-racial families, and North Korean defectors. These programs are primarily intended to assist the underprivileged in building their financial self-sufficiency in the long run.
On-Site Education Programs
We join hands with local community service centers and children's welfare advocacy groups to provide on-site education programs to the underprivileged so that they may develop their financial capabilities.
KCIE works to build a solid infrastructure for investor education by developing high-quality education materials.
Textbooks and educational materials for teachers and students
We develop financial textbooks and educational materials for primary and secondary schools and seek to have them certified by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. Currently, the English version of Investing for Your Dreams, a set of financial education materials for elementary school teachers and students, is available through this website or by post upon request. More materials will be published in English going forward.
Investment Guidebook Series for General Investors
We publish the Investment Guidebook Series to help general investors improve their financial skills regarding such topics as making long-term, diversified investments, managing assets efficiently and planning for retirement with confidence. They also include investor guidebooks on new financial products such as ELW, ELS, and ETF.
